Description
The ride to Accompong Town Maroon Village Tour, takes you through rural farming towns and villages, many of which were developed during the plantation era. Since that time until now, the primary source of income is farming. Enjoy the scenery – lush, green mountain and valleys – on your journey, take a camera. On entering Accompong Town Maroon Village, you will be greeted by a learned resident Maroon Guide who will give a briefing before taking you on a tour of the village. You will continue on to Kindah (Means one family). Sit under the huge mango tree on the very rocks that the Maroon Warriors sat on to plan their strategy before an attack on the British Red Coats or to celebrate after a successful attack. Hundreds of Maroons and visitors will be entertained in the traditional, authentic Maroon spirit of drumming singing and dancing. A feast of boiled pork, roasted yam and roasted plantain will be available for sampling.
